Background
College Working Parties(WPs) have produced many influential reports.They have frequently led the way in terms of public health policy eg WP reports on smoking and alcohol.
Membership
These tend to be small in number and consist of relevant Fellows and Members plus appropriate experts from other fields.
Duration
Depending on the issue, this varies between six to eighteen months. The College normally has several WPs on different topics running at any one time.
Joint working
WPs are set up by the College alone or undertaken with other Royal Colleges or specialist societies.
Approval and management
The suitability of suggested topics and ongoing management through the production, launch and promotion of reports is provided by the Working Party Review Group.
