Progressing from a Postgraduate Certificate to a Diploma and then a Masters award, this is a part time, modular programme, which can be completed in two to three years.
Postgraduate Certificate
In the first year the aim is to provide a broad, critical overview, of research and theory in organisations. Participants will explore issues of organisational analysis and change, leadership and human resource management, motivation and performance, and how to apply medical leadership in practice.
Postgraduate Diploma
The focus of the PG Diploma in the second year is on individual and organisational development and improvement. This involves studying the coaching, training and professional development of staff, and managing the introduction of new technology. Participants will also consider their own clinician-management careers and how to manage the work-life balance.
Masters
Participants have the option of completing the Masters award in year two or year three. The final Masters focuses on organisational and management research. Participants will have the opportunity to produce a research paper, appropriate for publication in a peer-reviewed management journal.
Case Studies
The programme’s academic content is placed into a clinical context through medical case studies. These case studies are delivered by exciting speakers including Postgraduate Deans, Medical Directors and Hospital Chief Executives.
Location
Modules will be delivered in purpose built teaching facilities at the Royal College of Physicians in London.

The programme is approved for external non-clinical CPD credits (one credit per hour) and is listed on the College’s CPD diary
