CPD diary
The purpose of the CPD diary scheme is to help ensure that members, fellows and all other registered post-training physicians undertake appropriate CPD activities on a yearly basis, and to enable them to maintain a validated record of these.
Registered physicians are provided with access to a personal online CPD diary, which they use to plan, search for, record and reflect on their CPD activities.

How the CPD diary scheme works
The CPD diary works on an annual cycle, which runs from 1 April to 31 March each year. At the end of each CPD year, registrants may print a certificate of the CPD credits that they have achieved, which can be presented at annual appraisal to demonstrate completion of required CPD.
All physicians who are registered to use the online CPD diary scheme must complete a minimum of 50 CPD credits per year (one CPD credit is awarded for each hour of CPD completed). Within this minimum requirement 25 credits must be external, and up to 10 can be personal credits.
For detailed information regarding the CPD scheme including participation, eligibility, the recording of CPD activities and audit of CPD records, please read the Guidelines for CPD.
