The Royal College of Physicians offers both financial support and advice to doctors working in, or wish to work in, the UK.

Research and travelling fellowships, lectureships and prizes

Since 1582, the College has been the beneficiary of numerous legacies from Fellows and friends of the College. The Trust Funds set up in their names have generated income to fund many prestigious lectureships and, in more recent years, research and travelling fellowships. The College has also been provided with generous funding from charitable and other organisations, which has enabled it to provide opportunities for research into many diverse medical conditions.

International Medical Graduates

The College supports doctors who wish to come and work in the UK by providing them with information about training, qualfications and Visa requirements. The International Sponsorhip Scheme is for both doctors in the UK wanting to sponsor an overseas doctor to come and work in a UK hospital and overseas doctors looking for places in UK hospitals.

Career timeline for doctors

The Joint Royal College of Physicians Training Board (JRCPTB) advises on all aspects of training for doctors in the UK. More details are available on the JRCPTB website.
