In July 2017 the government commissioned the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) to advise on the economic and social impacts of the UK’s exit from the EU and also on how the UK’s immigration system should be aligned with a modern industrial strategy.
This call for evidence identifies the sort of information that the MAC will find most helpful to receive during the initial phase of its consideration of the government’s commission.
Summary
The RCP’s response calls on the government to introduce a positive and welcoming migratory system for doctors to ensure a sustainable and safe NHS.
The government must guarantee that EU nationals will be able to remain in the UK following our exit from the EU, so that they can continue to provide patients with support and care.
