A two day global health conference held at the Royal College of Physicians

The UK universities have great strength in biomedical and health service research, education and training. In partnership with academic institutions in the south, they are in a pivotal position to address major issues in global health and to assist in building capacity. Frequently, this is best achieved by forging partnerships with institutions internationally. This conference brings together universities with their partners to share best practice, review lessons learned, and plan the way forward for international partnerships that promote equity and sustainability.

The conference assembled a diverse group of leaders from 21 different countries, representing universities and other academic institutions, philanthropic organisations and the private sector. A particular focus of the conference is the perspective of southern institutions, with many panellists from sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and Latin America. Featuring presentations and lively panel debates, the aim is to encourage vigorous debate to generate new ideas and ways of working together.
