The Royal College of Physicians is a truly global organisation. Around 15% of our members and fellows currently live outside of the UK, with most falling into one of three categories:
- British doctors who have studied in the UK and later emigrated.
- Doctors from abroad who have come to the UK in order to train or work.
- Doctors who have never lived or studied in the UK, but who took an MRCP exam in one of the ever-expanding network. of overseas examination centres.
With this network of clinical experts, the RCP has both the ability and the duty to maintain and extend its global reach. Doing so can only increase the impact of our mission to improve the quality of patient care. The RCP's has international projects over the full range of issues that we work on in the UK, inlcuding:
- support for RCP members and fellows based around the world.
- helping medical graduates from abroad come to the UK for training.
- providing pro bono support and training to health educators in developing countries.
- exporting our expertise in medical standards and education.
- collaboration on research and policy with medical and government institutions.
Explore our international network and find out how are we are working to improve healthcare provision in your region. Projects in each region are coordinated by an associate international director.
