Recruitment process

Guidance for applying for a role at the RCP.

Application

The first stage in applying for one of our roles is to submit a CV and a covering letter. On occasion you may be asked to complete our online application form. You will also be asked to supply key information about yourself, including your right to work status and notice period.

Once the vacancy has closed, a shortlisting panel will review your application against the criteria set out in the job description and person specification. We aim to shortlist candidates as close to the closing date as possible and will notify you of the outcome of your application.

For any help or guidance during the application process please contact the recruitment team at recruitment@rcplondon.ac.uk.

Selection

The selection process for all roles will consist of a panel interview and on most occasions will be supplemented with additional testing methods, although these are dependent on the type and level of the role. These can include: preparing and delivering presentations, sitting tasks or tests, and taking part in psychometric testing (the RCP uses Personal Profile Analysis by Thomas International).

We will inform you of the complete selection process when we invite you to attend an interview.

Job offers and feedback

If you are successful at interview you will receive a call from a member of the recruitment team or a member of the interview panel and we will follow up with a formal offer in writing.

If you are unsuccessful at interview stage, we will email you the outcome of your interview and you can email the recruitment team for feedback to help with future applications and interviews.

All of our offers of employment are subject to satisfactory references and eligibility to work in the UK. We will only contact referees once a post has been offered and the successful applicant has provided permission.
