Dr Celia Bielawski qualified at King’s College Hospital, London, and has worked for many years as a consultant physician and geriatrician at the Whittington Hospital, London.
Celia has undertaken a variety of management and educational roles including clinical director, undergraduate sub-dean for University College London, Foundation Training Programme director and director of postgraduate medical education (DPME).
As DPME, Celia led an organisation with an excellent reputation for postgraduate medical training and developed interprofessional education programmes. Within geriatric medicine, her areas of special interest are Parkinson’s disease and interface geriatric medicine, working also in community settings.
She is involved in the physical care of people with serious mental health problems. Currently, Celia is also deputy director of the North Central and East London Foundation School. She works as a Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB) examiner and in design of their assessments. She is involved in several schemes to support and train refugee doctors to work in the UK.
