Dr David Cohen is a consultant physician at Northwick Park Hospital, London. With a background in general and geriatric medicine, he leads the comprehensive stroke service.
David has always had an interest in designing an efficient service and in recruiting to multicentre trials from big general hospitals.
In 2012, the unit won the BMA Clinical Leadership Team of the Year award and the following year the Stroke Research Network’s Team of the Year award.
David was elected to the RCP Council in 2012 and became a trustee in 2014. He has also been treasurer of the British Geriatrics Society and an MRCP(UK) examiner for many years.
He has done work for the RCP on fellowship, equality and diversity, bye-laws and invited service reviews. He has since worked on mental health and was instrumental in RCP discussions on the decriminalisation of personal drug use.
