Specialty doctor in cardiology and honorary clinical senior lecturer

Dr Ihab Ramzy was elected to represent the North West London region in December 2017. He is a specialty doctor in cardiology at Northwick Park Hospital.

He is a fellow of the RCP and representative at the Education Board.

He started his research work at the Royal Brompton Hospital in 1997 which led to different publications. He has special interest in cardiac imaging and his PhD thesis was focused on left ventricular electromechanical function in acute coronary syndrome using echocardiography.

He joined London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust in 2001 as echocardiography lab lead at Central Middlesex Hospital, and then moved to Northwick Park Hospital in 2006 with expanding skills using different diagnostic cardiac modalities, in addition to general cardiology service.

He has a keen interest in teaching and training, and he has been appointed as honorary clinical senior lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London since 2013 providing undergraduate teaching for medical students.

Ihab is passionate about improving SAS colleagues’ wellbeing and engagement in educational programmes.
