Dr Jo Szram is an elected member of Council at the Royal College of Physicians (RCP).
Jo is a consultant physician and director of medical education at the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust, and deputy postgraduate dean, South London.
She has worked with the Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board (JRCPTB) quality team to critically assess and refine training, and to develop and deliver a trust-wide multiprofessional educational programme in quality improvement education for all staff.
Her work on the editorial board of the Future Healthcare Journal has provided the opportunity to influence the evolution of the publication as a way to empower all, particularly doctors in training, to demonstrate what they have learnt, and spread and share their knowledge widely.
In her clinical practice, and as an educational leader, Jo continues to be reminded that clear and open communication is key to influencing and achieving progressive and sustainable change within healthcare and training. She is passionate about placing the patient and learner firmly at the centre of care, and was proud to be nominated by her trainees for the inaugural Dr Rose Polge wellbeing award from the Medical Footprints charity.
