RCP trustee councillor and past Linacre fellow
Dr Jo Szram is a past Linacre fellow, a role focused on the development and leadership of the RCP’s network of college tutors and associate college tutors.
Jo is a consultant respiratory physician specialising in occupational lung disease at the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust, and clinical advisor for Health Education England’s medical reform programme, including lead dean for the Flexible Portfolio Training Pilot. She is chair of NACT UK, which represents and supports directors of medical education and other educational leaders across the four nations to promote excellence in quality of education for all healthcare learners. She sits on the Council of the Royal Society of Medicine’s Patient Safety Section and has been an elected councillor at the RCP since 2018.
She has worked with the Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board (JRCPTB) quality team to critically assess and refine training, and acts as external assessor to the internal medicine training programme in Wayanad, Kerala.
Her work on the editorial board of the Future Healthcare Journal has provided the opportunity to influence the evolution of the publication as a way to empower all, particularly doctors in training, to demonstrate what they have learnt, and spread and share their knowledge widely.
