Associate specialist in cardiology
'I am proud to represent KSS Deanery on behalf of SAS doctors.'
Dr Krystyna Darasz has been working at SAS grade level in cardiology since 1993 and has held the post of associate specialist in cardiology at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford, since 2006. She read Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge, transferred to Medicine and completed her undergraduate medical training at the University of Oxford Medical School, qualifying in 1983. Junior posts and registrar training followed, and then an MD in cardiac imaging. In 2019 she was elected to the fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians, a special moment.
Her SAS post allows her to combine cardiology with family life. She feels strongly that the SAS grade is a positive career pathway and should be further developed and enhanced as an even more attractive career choice.
