Associate specialist in sexual health
Dr Sashidharan was elected as regional representative (London North and Central) on the RCP SAS Doctors’ Committee. He is keen to work with the rest of the committee to focus on recognition, training, career progression of SAS doctors nationally and also help in combating discrimination experienced by this group
Dr Sashidharan was elected as a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians earlier this year.
Dr Sashidharan is associate specialist at Homerton Sexual Health Services, Homerton University Hospital, London. He has been a member of the British Association of Sexual Health & HIV (BASHH) Board as SAS group representative since 2018.
He was a member of the BASHH Education Committee in 2017 as SAS representative. He has special interest in genital dermatology and HIV. He was chair of the BASHH Genital Dermatology Special Interest Group from 2013–16 and has organised several BASHH genital dermatology courses. He has also organised several BASHH scientific sessions and contributed at these meetings. He has co-authored the BASHH guidelines on scabies, taught on BASHH sexually transmitted infection foundation courses and presented at BASHH annual conferences.
He has been an invited speaker at national and international meetings, has published in peer-reviewed journals and co-authored a chapter in the book: Anus: Surgical treatment and pathology. He is a reviewer for the BMJ and Indian Journal of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology.
