Dr Rasha Mukhtar is a consultant diabetologist and endocrinologist at Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey.
Rasha completed her medical degree at the University of Khartoum, Sudan, and moved to England after finishing house officer posts to sit the Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB) test and continue her medical training and specialisation in the UK.
Her specialist training was based within the Severn Deanery, with time taken out for research leading to an MD from the University of Bath.
She has also completed a Diploma in Medical Education from Durham University. Rasha has been an associate lecturer at Newcastle University, and she is currently the FY2 Foundation Programme director at Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey. In addition, she is a GMC associate and PLAB and MRCP(UK) examiner.
Her research interests are type 1 diabetes, diabetes-related technology and antenatal care. In addition to direct clinical work, she is involved in several research projects, particularly diabetes-related.
