Associate specialist in cardiology and honorary clinical senior lecturer

Dr Arshad is an associate specialist cardiologist at Homerton University Hospital, honorary clinical senior lecturer at Queen Mary University of London, lead for SAS doctors and council member of the RCP, and chair of the SAS committee and council member of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges (AoMRC).
He is a member of his hospital’s medical education committee, appraisal and revalidation group, joint Local Negotiating Committee and cardiovascular health local implementation team.
He has heavy commitment to formal teaching at undergraduate level to medical students and at postgraduate level to cardiology trainees, cardiac specialist nurses and cardiac physiologists.
He works actively for development and recognition of SAS colleagues. He has established the RCP’s SAS regional representative network, ensured SAS representation on the RCP’s boards and committees and made fellowship accessible for SAS colleagues.
