Professor Finlay Macrae AO

Professor Macrae is head of colorectal medicine and genetics at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Finlay's clinical practice is in inflammatory bowel disease, early detection, and prevention of colorectal cancer, and risk assessment and management of familial GI cancers. His department manages the curation of genes predisposing to GI cancers through LOVD and as part of the NIH ClinGen process.

He founded and chairs the Australian and New Zealand Gastroenterology International Training Association, which has 200+ members. They volunteer for ANZGITA's training programmes in several countries around the world. He chaired the World Gastroenterology Organisation Training Centres Committee 2017-2021.
