Trainees Committee representative – South London
Selina is a specialist registrar and NIHR academic clinical fellow in haematology in the south-west London deanery.
She has represented the south-west London region at the RCP's Trainees Committee since 2017. She is currently a clinical research fellow at University College London undertaking a doctorate in multiple myeloma under the supervision of Professor Kwee Yong. She has been awarded research grants for her work from Cancer Research UK.
Selina has been published widely including in the BMJ, Blood Cancer Journal, International Journal of Haematology and British Journal of Hospital Medicine. Her research has also been presented at the American Society of Haematology and the British Society of Haematology annual conferences. She co-authored The Hands-on Guide to the Foundation Programme (fifth edition), published by Wiley Blackwell in 2014, which has sold over 1,500 copies to date.
As part of her role, she sits on the BMA multi-specialty working group. She is also the trainee representative on the British Society of Haematology education sub-committee and has chaired the 'Basics in clinical haematology' course since 2014. She is a member of the American Society of Haematology, European Haematology Association, British Society of Haematology and the BMA.
