Censors

Education, examination and maintaining standards in medical practice are at the core of the RCP. Our censors oversee this vital work.

While their role has changed over the past 500 years, since the RCP’s foundation in 1518 the censors have played a crucial part in delivering exams and being the guardian of appropriate standards of professional conduct.

You can find out more about the role of the censors here or in our display outside the Censors Room at the RCP’s London office near Regent’s Park.
