Associate membership

RCP associate membership is available to medical students and qualified physicians, including SAS doctors and advanced clinical practitioners.

RCP associate membership welcomes you to our community and is here to help you excel from the very start of your career in medicine and to succeed in your first years as a fully qualified doctor. We aim to assist you in making those key decisions that will take you forward to the next stage of your training. After passing the MRCP(UK) exam, you will become eligible for collegiate membership.

We give our members the tools and resources needed to prepare for exams and succeed in physician training. Through our representation, education and recognition, you will feel supported through a crucial stage of your career.

What we do for you

Associate membership offers a wide range of benefits specific to your education and career stage. These benefits include:

  • RCP library services including use of study spaces and the Library Reading Room
  • web-streamed conferences, lectures and teach-ins to allow you to participate from afar, including access to our video archive
  • exclusive discounts, which may include free entry, to RCP events and conferences.

After your foundation year, we also offer access to our CPD diary, saving you £160 a year, and the option to combine membership payments with your JRCPTB training fees.

To allow us to provide you with the most relevant, advantageous and supportive benefits, your membership benefits will change as your career stages progress. You can download a complete list of benefits you'll receive at the bottom of the page.
