New Consultants Committee: vacancies for representatives

We are looking for new consultants to fill a number of the RCP's New Consultants Committee (NCC) posts from 1 August 2018 to 31 July 2021.

Vacancies for representatives from the following regions will soon be available on the NCC:

  • North Wales
  • North West London
  • Wessex
  • South London
  • Northern Ireland

The role

The NCC aims to meet the interests and needs of doctors at an important stage in their career. It also gives new consultants an opportunity to feed into the development of RCP policy and to contribute to its work.

The committee is represented on a wide range of groups in the RCP, including Council and specialty committees, and it inputs to important issues and projects, such as safe medical staffing and the Our Future Health project. The NCC meets four times a year.

Eligibility

To be eligible you must have been appointed to your first consultant’s post within the last 5 years and be an RCP London subscribing member. If you are not a member, joining information is available.

How to apply

If you are interested in representing these regions, please email NCC committee manager Rhys Owens at rhys.owens@rcplondon.ac.uk by 5pm on Friday 1 June 2018.

The NCC’s terms of reference are attached. Please ensure that you are able to take the requisite time away from your trust, and note the information on the RCP’s principles and process for nominations. If more than one eligible candidate comes forward, a ballot will be held in your region.

The Royal College of Physicians welcomes and actively seeks to recruit people to its activities regardless of race, religion, ethnic origin, disability, age, gender and sexual orientation.
