New member sought for Joint Specialty Committee (JSC) for Endocrinology & Diabetes

The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) is seeking a diabetologist  RCP fellow to join the Joint Specialty Committee (JSC) for Endocrinology & Diabetes as a representative of the college.

The Role

The JSC brings together representatives of the RCP, the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists (ABCD), Diabetes UK (DUK) and the Society for Endocrinology (SfE) twice a year to share information and facilitate collaboration. Membership includes senior officers of the parent bodies, senior and junior consultants, a trainee representative and two members from the RCP’s Patient & Carer Network. Members serve for up to 4 years.

Current JSC discussion topics include:

  • NHS reforms
  • commissioning guidance
  • workforce and training
  • service issues
  • suggesting names for RCP lectureships
  • making proposals for RCP conferences
  • responding to consultation requests.
