Regional vacancies on the New Consultants Committee

The New Consultants Committee (NCC) has vacancies for representatives from the following regions: East Midlands South; Northern; Oxford and Thames Valley; Yorkshire. The posts are to be filled with immediate effect for a period up until 31 July 2019.

The role

The NCC aims to meet the interests and needs of doctors at an important stage in their career. It also gives new consultants an opportunity to feed into the development of RCP policy and to contribute to its work.

The committee is represented on a wide range of groups in the RCP, including Council and specialty committees, and it inputs to important issues and projects, such as safe medical staffing and the Future Hospital Programme. The NCC meets four times a year.

To be eligible you must have been appointed to your first consultant’s post within the last 5 years and be an RCP London subscribing member.

If you are not a member, find out how to join the RCP.

How to apply

If you are interested in representing these regions, please contact NCC committee manager Geraldine Welham – – by 5pm on Friday 25 November 2016. If more than one eligible candidate comes forward in a region, a ballot will be held.
