Each year, the NHS produces more carbon emissions than all the planes taking off from Heathrow combined, which contribute significantly to global climate change and presents a huge and imminent threat to health, and therefore service demand.
The update conference is designed to provide valuable updates on relevant topics, while also giving the opportunity to meet with the president of the Royal College of Physicians, who will host an ‘open forum’ session.
This is the 2nd lecture in the RCP's medicinal plant lecture series and will include talks on the use of plants in medicine based on archaeological evidence from Roman Britain as well as the medicinal aspects of coffee, tea and chocolate.
This will be the 3rd lecture in the medicinal plant lecture series where there will be discussions on plants with medicinal uses grown in medieval gardens as well as a talk on plant poisions used as weapons.
Update in medicine – Basingstoke will take place on Monday 30 September at Apollo Hotel. This annual meeting will include an open forum with RCP president Professor Andrew Goddard along with a number of presentations from leading experts.
