Navigating patient safety: Learning disability and sepsis

This Medical Care – Driving Change webinar focusses on learning disability (LD) and sepsis, highlighting common themes from patient safety incidents nationally to raise awareness among junior doctors.

The Chelsea & Westminster Hospital post graduate medical education (PGME) fellows will share a scenario describing a patient journey from admission under the Medical Take and discuss the patient’s evolving clinical journey with our expert panel who include Dr Christian Subbe (consultant physician, co-author of the RCP Acute Care Toolkit 16: for people with a learning disability) and Anne Hunt (deputy director of nursing for Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust; doctorate in LD and sepsis).

We will also speak to Dr Charlotte Annesley (the NHS's first LD Physician and co-creator of the RCP LD Certificate) with a spotlight on her role and how trainees can get more involved in learning disability within medicine.
