This session is part of the Northern region's mandatory general internal medicine (GIM) teaching programme.
GIM teaching sessions are for higher specialty trainees in the Northern region who are dual-accrediting in a medical specialty and general internal medicine. There are six afternoon teaching sessions per year, each consisting of three presentations.
Registration is from 1.30pm and sessions run from 2pm to 4.30pm.
A video-conference link will be provided from the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle to the South Tees Institute of Learning, Research and Innovation, James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, and trainees may attend at either site.
The teaching session will be followed on this occasion by an Association of North of England Physicians (ANEP) Meeting which will be held at 5.15pm–9pm at the Freeman Hospital. Presentations will cover the range of clinical medical practice, including original research, clinical cases and clinical audit. Refreshments will be served beforehand.
