This StR Teaching in GIM session is part of the Northern region's mandatory general internal medicine (GIM) teaching programme.
GIM teaching sessions are for higher specialty trainees in the Northern region who are dual-accrediting in a medical specialty and general internal medicine. There are six afternoon teaching sessions per year, each consisting of three presentations.
Registration is from 1.30pm and sessions run from 2-4.30pm.
Video-conference links will be provided from the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle to the South Tees Institute of Learning, Research and Innovation, James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough and to the James George Education Centre, Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle. Trainees may attend at any site.
The teaching session will be followed on this occasion by an Association of North of England Physicians (ANEP) Meeting which will be held at 5.15pm–9pm at the Freeman Hospital. Presentations will cover the range of clinical medical practice, including original research, clinical cases and clinical audit. Refreshments will be served beforehand.
This GIM teaching session will take place on 27 March 2019 at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne.
