Success in medicine

Our new 'Success in medicine' conference provides a flexible programme of events that will allow you to attend dedicated workshops relevant to your career stage, gain expert career advice, select the specialty you're most interested in, and network with your peers.

Whether you’re a medical student, foundation doctor or core medical trainee, the conference will help you progress to the next stage of your career.

Dedicated career stage workshops will help you:

  • make the most of your current career stage
  • prepare for the next stage
  • gain experiences in alternative settings.

Please find the downloadable programme below; we will be releasing more information on the remaining workshops via email and Twitter (@RCPLondon / #SMed2017).

At 'Success in medicine', you'll be able to:

  • plan your day according to career needs
  • access one-to-one career advice sessions, giving you the opportunity to ask personal careers questions
  • tailor-make your introduction to all medical specialties, and meet consultants and trainee doctors from each specialty society, who will offer advice and tips based on first-hand experience.

To make your day as flexible as possible registration will open at 9am and close at 3pm. The conference closes at 4.30pm.

Take a look at some of the events that took place at the conference last year in our 'Success in medicine' video.

Excellent that there was greater focus on being a careers day with stalls focused on this, rather than a 'careers day' which is majority sponsors. I felt this gave the event a good degree of credibility.
