The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) has published a new position paper – supported by the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow – setting out recommendations for short- and medium-term measures to help address workforce challenges facing the NHS.

The pandemic has again highlighted the crucial role that EU and international staff play in UK health and social care services. Our colleagues who come to the UK from across the world must be and feel valued.

Hospitals are more than bricks and mortar: they are a part of the local community, delivering expert care far beyond hospital walls. Everyone should be supported to be well, and have access to high-quality care when they are ill.
