Eligibility criteria

Your application to be interviewed will only be considered for shortlisting if you:

  • have passed IELTS (Academic or Academic UKVI) to the required level of at least 7.5 overall and at least 7.0 in each category or OET (medicine version) with grade B in all test areas
  • have been in continuous clinical practice for the past 12 months, and for 3 of the past 5 years after graduation
  • have not failed PLAB
  • have a postgraduate qualification eg MRCP part 1, DNB, MD
  • are a national of and practise in the country where the interview is being held.

The Medical Training Initiative enables participants to work and train in the UK for a maximum of 2 years. It is designed to support trainees who wish to return to their home countries after completing the fellowship.
