Details of upcoming Medical Training Initiative interviews, and eligibility requirements, as well as guidance on how to apply.

Upcoming interviews

  • 19 August 2018: Khartoum, Sudan
  • 3–7 September 2018: Yangon, Myanmar

Applications for the Sudan and Myanmar interviews have now closed. Regrettably we will only be able to contact those who have been shortlisted.

New interview dates will be published when they are confirmed.

Eligibility criteria

Your application to be interviewed will only be considered for shortlisting if you:

  • have passed IELTS (Academic or Academic UKVI) to the required level of at least 7.5 overall and at least 7.0 in each category OR OET (medicine version) with grade B in all test areas
  • have been in continuous clinical practice for the past 12 months, and for 3 of the past 5 years after graduation
  • have not failed PLAB
  • have a postgraduate qualification eg MRCP part 1, DNB, MD
  • are a national of and practise in the country where the interview is being held.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 2 weeks of the application deadline. If you have not heard from us, then unfortuantely you have not been selected for interview.

Please note, the Medical Training Initiative enables participants to work and train in the UK for a maximum of 2 years and is designed to support trainees who wish to return to their home countries after completing the fellowship.
