Applications open for the 2018 Quincentennial Lecturer scheme

In celebration of our 500th anniversary, the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) is appointing a Quincentennial Lecturer in each region of the UK.

The next rounds of applications will be opening from now through to April 2018, and as with the first round, the RCP will be encouraging trainee physicians at CMT or ST3-7 to apply from across the UK. The successful applicants will be appointed as the Quincentennial Lecturer to present at each of this year's regional Update in Medicine conferences.

The regions opening this year are:

  • Oxford and Thames Valley – open now
  • Northern Ireland – open now
  • West Midlands – 5 February 2018
  • Wessex – 12 February 2018
  • Wales – 12 March 2018
  • Northern – 19 March 2018
  • North West – 16 April 2018

Each successful lecturer will be presented with a plaque by the RCP president to recognise their achievement, and invited to the 2018 Harveian Oration and dinner.

More information about the 2018 scheme, including deadline dates and application forms, are available on the Quincentennial lecturer scheme page.
