In partnership with the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management (FMLM), the Future Hospital Programme (FHP) is recruiting for the second cohort of chief registrars.
This is an exciting opportunity for ST5 or above trainees, who as chief registrars will gain experience in leading quality improvement, and will help to bridge the leadership gap between frontline staff, senior clinicians and management.
The role
Starting in August or September 2016, several trusts across the UK are recruiting for these roles. These include:
- Northampton General Hospital
- Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust
- Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
- University of London Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education (PMDE).
The chief registrar role provides junior doctors with 2 days of protected time every week to develop leadership and management, education, and quality improvement skills, whilst continuing with clinical responsibilities for the remaining time. The position will place you at the heart of designing patient care, enabling you to take ownership of your career development.
By joining the second cohort of an established and successful UK-wide programme, the chief registrars will participate in a first-class, bespoke leadership development programme delivered in partnership with the FMLM and the Royal College of Physicians' education department.
