Join the RCP's Student and Foundation Doctor Network

The RCP's Student and Foundation Doctor Network is seeking representatives across many regions. These positions give medical students and foundation doctors the opportunity to get actively involved with the RCP and help shape our policy, services and activities.

What is the SFDN?

These positions give medical students and foundation doctors the opportunity to get actively involved with the RCP and help shape our policy, services and activities.

The SFDN comprises 20 medical student and foundation doctor representatives around the UK, who act as RCP ambassadors and a voice for their peers. It gives students and foundation doctors the opportunity to contribute to the RCP's work and develop valuable skills in areas such as leadership, project management and communication.

The SFDN’s work is currently focused on three main themes:

  • working lives
  • career development
  • local engagement and communications.

The SFDN has vacancies for representatives from:

  • Eastern – student representative, foundation doctor representative
  • London – foundation doctor representative
  • Mersey and North Western – student representative
  • Midlands – student representative, foundation doctor representative
  • Northern – student representative, foundation doctor represenative
  • Northern Ireland – student represenative, foundation doctor representative
  • South East – student representative, foundation doctor representative
  • South West – student representative
  • Wales – student representative.

Eligibility

You must be a medical student or foundation doctor, and a current subscribing member of the RCP, to be eligible to join the SFDN.

Please apply based on where you'll be based and the career stage you'll be at from August 2019.
