Medicine 2019 opens call for abstract submissions

Medicine 2019, the RCP's upcoming annual general conference, has opened its call for abstract submissions

Abstracts on the following topics will be accepted, peer-reviewed through a ‘blind’ reviewing process, then put forward for one of three prizes with authors notified of the outcome of review by the end of March 2019:

  • health services and policy
  • clinical
  • research and innovation
  • education, training and medical professionalism.

The overall winner will receive £1,000 along with two tickets for the RCP's prestigious Harveian dinner on Tuesday 15 October 2019, while two runners-up will each receive £500. All winners will also all get the opportunity to be featured in our RCP journals.

Inviting delegates to attend Medicine 2019, RCP academic vice president Professor Cheng-Hock Toh said:

Regardless of your career stage and specialist interest, the 2-day programme will educate you on the latest transformative clinical science across specialties, immerse you in important policy issues, which are not covered in specialist society meetings, equip you with comprehensive and diverse skills to manage multiple morbidities, and enable you to network with key opinion leaders and highly effective clinicians.

Discussing the importance of abstracts to Medicine 2019, RCP clinical vice president Professor David Oliver said:

Scientific abstracts and the posters describing them are a key component of our annual conference. Last year we received around 300 and accepted 250.

This is a great chance to bring your work to a wide audience and we welcome submissions from teams and practitioners throughout the NHS and beyond.
