The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) responds to the speech delivered this morning at the RCP by Matt Hancock, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, who shared his vision for the future of healthcare.
The RCP has today published a letter outlining how clinical academic trainees should be supported to return to research work, while ensuring the NHS remains adequately equipped to respond to the pandemic.
Today the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) and 29 medical specialist societies and faculties have written to the Chancellor ahead of this week’s budget. In the letter we highlight the scale of the challenges facing our NHS and social care services and the need for the Government to act now.
The government must put patient safety at the heart of the continued Brexit negotiations and invest in the health and care workforce, public health and prevention, a capital programme and social care provision.
