2019 saw honorary fellowships awarded to six eminent figures who have made a significant contribution to medical science.

The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) has appointed Dr Alastair Gilmore and Dr Sonia Panchal as its deputy registrars following a competitive appointment process for these new roles.

Professor Dame Jane Dacre, immediate-past president of the RCP, has been appointed chair of the Senior Physicians Society (SPS).
