The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) has launched a new 500th anniversary documentary — RCP – Past, present and future — which brings together the voices of its senior officers to tell the historical story of the college, its achievements, the organisation’s role today and our future ambitions.
It features footage from the RCP archives, and some of our most treasured artefacts and significant accomplishments, together with perspectives from our president, Professor Jane Dacre, treasurer Chuka Nwokolo and other officers. Working closely with the filmmakers, the 13-minute film has been directed to explore five themes: setting standards, education and training, the doctor–patient relationship, the beginning of the NHS and public health.
Discussing the documentary, the RCP said:
The film underlines our unwavering commitment to great patient care, and our strengths and modern-day challenges at 500 years old.
