RCP welcomes start of revalidation

Dr Ian Starke, medical director for revalidation at the Royal College of Physicians, welcomed the commencement of revalidation for doctors today, commenting that:

After the diligent preparation undertaken to reach this point, it is exciting to be at the start of the revalidation process that will contribute to achieving high quality care for patients. I would encourage all physicians to embrace this national process of medical appraisal and professional development. The RCP has developed a suite of resources to support our fellows and members through revalidation. These tools have been tested and are effective for both helping to collate and manage the supporting information needed for appraisal and revalidation.
