The Royal College of Physicians has opened its doors virtually, offering the public an opportunity to explore 500 years of medical history via their museum’s new online tours.
For the first time, audiences will be able to discover gruesome items, unique medical stories, and award-winning modernist architecture online, through the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) Museum’s new live virtual guided tours.
Guided live by an expert from the RCP museum team, visitors will travel virtually through the RCP’s Grade I listed Regent’s Park home, using a high-tech online walk-through supplemented with beautiful images and videos from its collections.
Experience the RCP’s historic building from the comfort of your own home, as your personal guide shares their knowledge and answers your questions to provide a unique tour experience.
Lowri Jones, senior curator at the Royal College of Physicians, said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer people a full tour of our museum, from the comfort of their own homes. There’s so much to discover within our collections and archives, it would be a real shame not to be able to share it with the world.
“Running live virtual guided tours mean that you don’t need to be in the London area to easily access our historical collection and amazing architecture – you can now discover them from anywhere in the world.”
