The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) and the Royal College of Surgeons have welcomed NHS England's plans to pilot new NHS targets and measurements for cancer, emergency and planned treatment in England.
On 10 May 2017, the RCP hosted ‘Learning from mortality reviews to improve patient safety’ as part of it's Keeping patients safe seminar series. The event discussed how the National Mortality Case Record Review (NMCRR) can improve care and keep patients safe.
In a report out today the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has raised significant concerns about the quality of investigation processes led by NHS trusts into patient deaths.
