In this blog, Dr Ayodele Sasegbon – 2019 Turner-Warwick lecturer for the North Western region and overall winner for 2019 – speaks about his experiences with the RCP lecturer scheme and how it helped him finish his PhD thesis and beyond.

This scheme will appoint 14 trainee lecturers spanning the UK’s regions and nations, along with an overall winner.

Dr Rajna Golubic, 2021 Turner-Warwick lecturer for the Eastern region, was chosen as the overall winner of the 2021 scheme.

The team was delighted and honoured to win this award for their ‘Digital pathways for pre-operative consent’ approach, placing patients at the centre of the pathway and maximising every opportunity to inform and improve understanding throughout their journey.

The Leicester Operational Delivery Network (ODN) hepatitis C team were delighted and thrilled to receive the EPCA 2021 patient-centred care award, reflecting and recognising the amazing work carried out by the team over the past five years.

Against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, the service felt it was a huge honour to be recognised for the EPCA 2021 excellence in a time of crisis award, which greatly boosted the morale of the team.

The overall winner of the 2020 Turner-Warwick lecturer scheme has been announced.

The RCP has been informed that the 2019 application round for national clinical excellence awards in England and Wales will open on Thursday 7 February.
