The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) had a strong presence at the 2023 party conferences, engaging with sector stakeholders and key decision makers from the Liberal Democrats, Conservatives, Labour and Plaid Cymru.
The Royal College of Physicians has responded to Labour's plans to cut waiting lists through measures including investing an extra £1.1 billion to provide NHS staff overtime to work evening and weekend shifts to carry out procedures.
The NHS is on life support. The GMC’s National Training Survey found that two thirds of trainees are at high or moderate risk of burnout and the recent RCP census confirmed the large number of doctors grappling with overwhelming service demand and staffing shortages.
