The RCP Chief Registrar Programme is a flagship leadership development programme for trainee doctors who are committed to quality improvement. 

The Harveian Oration was established in 1656 by William Harvey (1578–1657). Each year, the RCP continues the tradition by inviting a leading doctor or scientist to speak on issues relating to their field of work.

Flexible portfolio training (FPT) is a new initiative within higher specialty training run by Health Education England and the Royal College of Physicians that protects 1 day a week (or 20% time equivalent) for professional development.
