The Patient and Carer Network Impact Report 2017 is the first report produced to measure the impact of patient and public involvement at the RCP and to outline specific examples of the contributions made by PCN volunteers to key activities and projects.
The report includes specific examples of the contributions made by PCN volunteers to key activities and projects, with highlights including:
- Support for the Future Hospital Programme, including through involvement in project governance and facilitating the engagement of local patient representatives.
- Contributions to a number of RCP audit programmes such as the National Hip Fracture Database (NHFD) and the Asthma Audit Development Project.
- Involvement in Our Future Health through workshop sessions and input on the development of the project’s scope and aims.
- Contributions to the work of the Faculty of Physician Associates (FPA) through board membership and focus-group sessions reviewing curricula and strategic documents.
