The National Review of Asthma Deaths (NRAD) looked into the circumstances surrounding deaths from asthma from February 2012 to January 2013.

This workstream consisted of a 1-year project which involved identifying, exploring and piloting PREM tools and methodologies, and considering the practicalities and feasibility of collecting PREM data in primary care, secondary care and pulmonary rehabilitation.

The NLCA is commissioned by the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership. In 2015 the RCP won the tender to run the audit for the next 3–5 years.
