A number of events are taking place on Sunday 23 September 2018 to celebrate the official 500th anniversary of the Royal College of Physicians.
We are organising a guided tour on foot between the locations of the RCP’s past and present London headquarters, noting points of history and interest along the way. The walk begins at 12.30pm on 23 September at the Grange St Paul’s Hotel, on the site of our first home in Knightrider Street, and finishes at the RCP's current headquarters in Regent’s Park.
To join the walk, please contact RCP500@rcplondon.ac.uk.
RCP500 Charter Cycle
RCP president-elect Dr Andrew 'Bod' Goddard has been cycling 2,018 miles around England and Wales, visiting as many acute NHS trusts as possible over a 16-month period. He is using his journey to raise money for, and awareness of, the RCP’s essential work including Physicians for Africa.
The very last leg of the ride will begin at 12.30pm on 23 September at the RCP's home in Regent’s Park. The riders will embark on a round trip via the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich before returning to the RCP, where Dr Goddard will officially present the RCP500 Charter to current president Professor Dame Jane Dacre.
Tour of Canada House
We are partnering with Canada House to offer our members and fellows a special tour of our former home on Friday 21 September. Up to 20 places are available on the tour, which starts at 4.30pm.
The tour will share insights of the RCP’s history in the building and showcase Canada in the 21st century.
