Care for patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) has improved since 2008, according to the third UK IBD audit, but many hospitals are still not reaching the National IBD Service Standards, launched in February 2009.
The UK Inflammatory Bowel Disease Audit 1st Round in 2006 was the first UK-wide audit performed within gastroenterology. It demonstrated a marked variation in the resources and quality of care for IBD patients across the UK with particular deficits in some fundamental aspects of IBD care.
On 27 July 2016 the National COPD Audit Programme hosted an event at the Royal College of Physicians entitled 'Moving to continuous data collection and developing QI initiatives'. Slides and resources from this event have been made available for download.
