Commenting on the BMA’s review of evidence on passive smoking in vehicles, professor John Britton, chair of the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) Tobacco Advisory Group, said:
On World No Tobacco Day, the Royal College of Physicians has responded to Cancer Research UK analysis that estimates that tobacco causes the death of one person every five minutes in the UK.
The RCP produced its first report on tobacco Smoking and Health in 1962, launching six decades of action on tobacco control. At the time around 70% of men and 40% of women smoked.
