The East Midlands South region is supported by a dedicated RCP regional office.
This local office brings the RCP into the region, acting as an information point and the face of the RCP for local doctors.
This region covers Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Kettering. The regional advisers and college tutors work with the regional office to provide an education programme for doctors of all grades.
Alongside the regular training sessions for SpRs and grand round meetings, the regional office arranges an annual Update in Medicine meeting, PACES training and a PACES mock exam, exhibits at university medical fairs and has also hosted the Lilly Lecture.
The regional office organises and facilitates the MRCP Part 1 exam and the PACES exam, both held in Leicester. Approval for consultant and specialty doctor job descriptions is coordinated by the regional office along with elections for roles of regional adviser and college tutors and fellowship nominations.
